Interview with Mr. John Lennon
Hello Mr. Lennon! I'm so honored you decided to be on my show!
Can you share a bit about your childhood growing up in Liverpool with Aunt Mimi (Smith)?
Well, I had a very happy childhood. Aunt Mimi, my mom's sister, was a great woman who cared for me. She didn't always support me, however. She used to say, "The guitar's all right, John, but you'll never make a living out of it".
Liverpool was a great city to grow up in. We lived on Menlove Ave. I moved in there when I was 5. There was always something going on, and it was very vibrant.I hold dear memories of my childhood.
John, You've said that you hate the sound of your voice. In this article, https://faroutmagazine.co.uk/the-beatles-john-lennon-hate-his-own-voice/ you asked the recording engineers to try and improve it. At one time, you said about your voice, "Smother it in tomato ketchup!" Do you think that if people could only hear your passion, lyrics and feel the love you have without hearing your voice that you would be happy? After reading a whole bunch of your absolutely brilliant quotes, this is how I gather that you feel.
That is pretty much how I feel. I feel that, ultimately, my specific voice, with my passion, lyrics, and love, is one big package wrapped together into the songs. (I'm not sure exactly what John would've said, just guessing based on all of the quotes that he's made)
What is the key to happiness?
The key to happiness is just content with what you have. I'm straightforward, and I don't need much to be happy. I'm grateful for what I have and try to appreciate the good things in life.
When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, and I wrote down 'happy'. They told me I didn't understand the assignment, and I told them they don't understand life.

How did your mother's love for music influence your passion for music? Your mother played the banjo, right?
Yes, my mother played the banjo, and she loved music. She definitely influenced my love for music. I grew up listening to her play; it was always a happy and joyful experience. I'm grateful she passed that love down to me.
Are there any Beatles songs that were dedicated to her or inspired by her?
Yes, there are a few. "Mother" is a song that was dedicated to her. I wrote it after she passed away. It's a very personal and emotional song for me. I also wrote " Julia," a song for my wife, and my mother's banjo playing inspires it.
What do you think the Beatles mean to the world?
The Beatles were symbols of hope and change. We represented a new generation open to new ideas and willing to challenge the status quo. We were a force for good and inspired people to be their best selves.
When did you first meet Paul McCartney, and do you believe it was meant to be that you met him?
We met when we were teenagers. It was meant to be because we had such a strong connection from the start. We bonded over our love of music, and we just clicked. It was like we were brothers from the start.
Would you have started a different group if you hadn't met Paul McCartney?
No, I don't think so. We were meant to be together.
What's your favorite Beatles song?
That's a difficult question because there are so many great ones! I think "I want to hold your hand" is one of my favorites; it's just a perfect song and so beautiful!

Is there anything you miss about being in the Beatles?
I miss the camaraderie. We were a close-knit group, and we supported each other through everything. I also miss the creative process. It was always so enjoyable and gratifying to write and record new music with the band.
What do you think the legacy of the Beatles is?
The Beatles are one of the most important and influential bands of all time. We changed the face of popular music and inspired a generation. We're still relevant today, and our music will continue to inspire people for generations to come.
I couldn't agree more! Well, Mr. Lennon, I can't thank you enough for meeting with me today! I wish you lots of peace and love!
